Africa Day is an opportunity for Africans to remember that on the 25th of May, 1963, African countries signed the Charter of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) which later evolved into African Union (AU). The Charter called for greater unity among African countries.

The year 2022 signifies the 20th anniversary of the African Union. The theme of the Africa day celebration for 2022 focuses on the importance of addressing malnutrition and food insecurity. Let our energy as Africans be channelled towards harnessing the potentials on the African continent from Lagos to Djibouti and from Cape Town to Cairo.
